Today I completed 1 whole month in Sydney!!
How's it been then? Well, I would say its been great!!!
Time does flies away... surely...
One down, twenty three more to go!!!
Today we planned to go to the beach... first time since I arrived in sydney, but sadly the weather played a spoilsport... :(
Its been raining continuously for more than an hour now..
Its such an atmosphere that its getting terribly boring... cant study too... :(
What is needed now is nice garam garam kanda bhaji and kadak chaha!!!!! Just dreaming of the good old days...

Uni starts
This is the second week of my Uni life...
Uni started last week and all the work too.
Firstly apologies to all, I mentioned I will write about the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House but I am writing about the Uni...!!!
Duh, how boring, you will say... Sorry!!
Aso, the schedule is such that I need to go to the Uni only for 2 days... but those 2 days are long, I mean really long.
I am already out of touch of attending lectures and here I have to sit for two lectures on both the days of 3 hours each!! And that too at 2 in the afternoon!!
I thought it would really be very difficult for me. Actually, it wasn't... The lectures were fun and the topics interesting! So, I really enjoyed my first week of the Uni.
I got to meet a lot of new people, with varied backgrounds. It is nice that we are only 4-5 Indian students in a batch of 40 for two subjects... the rest are a mix of Australians, Europeans, Chinese, Middle East countries and so on...
I start the second week from tomorrow and have a lot of homework to be completed still... They say right, old habits die hard... well, old engineering habits of completing things at the last moments are still with me... Will need to get over them soon though...
Things are really different here. What I liked most is that a lot of importance is given to your thoughts and understanding. You have to put everything that you learn in your own words. Even in the exams, they test your knowledge and not retention, as is normally the case in our institutes.
Looking forward to the next few weeks...

Australia... first look
Hello everyone who's reading this blog of mine...
This is my first post and I hope to continue on this good work and dish out posts after posts!!!
Okay, lets see, what should I write in this? It's been a week since I arrived in Sydney and I think it would be nice for me to describe my first impressions of Sydney and my university, a.k.a Uni in the aussi slang...
After having deliberated long enough on the decision to come to Australia to study, I was finally boarding the flight to Sydney on the 6th of Feb. It was tough to leave behind a wonderful life back in India, go to office, do work (drink coffee), come back home, have food, chat with friends, sleep!!
But that was long left back and I was sitting in the lobby waiting for the boardings to start.
It was a wonderful flight of almost 13 hours and as we were landing in Sydney, the view of the city from air was breathtaking!! It was superb... I could see the sea, the yachts, the surfers and small houses with beautiful red/maroon sloping roofs. I guess we circled the Sydney airport some 3 times before we finally landed.
It was a different feeling altogether to land here in Australia. After months of planning, discussions, finally it was time for me to start on with a new life, alone.
As I came out of the airport, Alok and Suraj were already there waiting for me... it was really nice to see them...
Sydney is a beautiful city!! Very clean, disciplined and vibrant!!
We got a wonderful view of the city's suburbs while in the bus... To me, all the buildings seemed alike, brick walled, maroon sloping roofs!!
The day I reached Sydney, it was more than 40 degree Celsius!! terribly hot... I reached in the middle of the heat wave.
The place where I stay is also nice... it is a very old apartment block, the only one of its kind in the area known as Glebe, pronounced as glib...
We are very close to the main city area and can see the Sydney Central Business District skyline from the balcony... From the other side we get a view of my Uni... UTS or University of Technology Sydney and also of University of Sydney a.k.a usyd (usid)...
It is really a wonderful experience to be here... it is a nice and friendly place...
more updates soon... next up, visit to the Harbour bridge and Opera house...
